Bedtime reading is something I really miss. Both my lads caught the bug of loving the history doing bed time reading. Get them when they're young.

At some stage, I have plans to look at some of the other Roman sites here in the UK with a plan to get back up to Hadrian's Wall which I first saw about 30 years ago. I am really keen to get over to Holland and Germany to see the Rhineland sites as well.

JJcarojonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11826580638291659193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2591229843590982581.post-9126317015290786202016-02-24T17:44:18.305-08:002016-02-24T17:44:18.305-08:00Great write up. I too am very intrigued by the personal stories and artifacts that connect us to those who lived before us. Ill one day get over to that part of the world to see this site and others you've mentioned. Thanks for sharing. This made a great bedtime thing to share with my oldest boy. He loves the Roman troops so this was fun for us to read together.

AdamA.P.https://www.blogger.com/profile/04557979425409883713noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2591229843590982581.post-85153711418437995692016-02-24T12:18:20.734-08:002016-02-24T12:18:20.734-08:00I stopped thinking years ago that it was just a co...I stopped thinking years ago that it was just a coincidence it started to rain as I crossed the bridge into Wales. The weather in Devon on the day was bright and sunny as we discovered when the clouds lifted just south of Bristol.

Firestorm was mobbed out in the morning with a couple of Warhammer tournaments and an airbrush demo going on.carojonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11826580638291659193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2591229843590982581.post-49445045104562886612016-02-24T07:17:39.216-08:002016-02-24T07:17:39.216-08:00Yes I plan to visit the town at some time hopefull...Yes I plan to visit the town at some time hopefully in better weather. This village deserves to be better known than it is because next to Silchester (another good half-day out)it has in my opinion the best preserved Roman walls in this country and which surrounds a present day village. May I suggest that your return visit would be better timed towards the summer perhaps, the rain then is more cooling.
I was in Firestorm yesterday and I can report that they have now added 2 beer taps to the main counter from a local independent brewery .Mr Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03657702949814996671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2591229843590982581.post-6098511939041856242016-02-24T01:52:26.630-08:002016-02-24T01:52:26.630-08:00Caerwent is worth visiting.
