It is, to me ,one of the best ways to look at a Roman settlement - as you can get a real feel for its size and what was in it. I found the Norman Motte and Bailey quite small - time takes a toll but I found the same with others in the area (near white castle) so maybe it was just one that the put up for a short time as they moved along the old road?
