Infantry Officers 1845 Pattern Sword - Postscript

I thought you might like to see the new addition to the toy room, which I think makes a really nice centre piece to the whole room.

My new sword really creates a great centre piece to the room and I am really pleased with how well it came up after a bit of TLC.

Having looked at these pictures I can see I will have to move a few books up stairs to create a bit more elbow room for some recent additions to the research library.

  1. A nice addition to round things out JJ. I wonder if looking at it daily might tempt you into gaming the Crimean war (something I would have loved to do, but know I will never be able to realistically fit in)?

  5. Thanks Chaps, glad you like the view.

Lawrence, I have considered the Crimean War as another horse and musket period to game, and I had a whale of a time playing the Balaclava game up in North Devon with Chas and the boys a few years back. There is a report listed in the labels under Balaclava if you haven't seen it. Like you though, with other eras that I want to do before I die, I don't know if I could fit it in. Never say never though.

Steve, I thought you were under a controlling order when it came to swords, after what the magistrate said!

    1. You might be right, but we did have a clear out of the loft earlier this year which has freed up a lot of space so I am hoping to make do for now. My problem is I do like my books

    1. Thanks Phil, yeah the room works well, although the lighting is a bit low which is why I put in daylight bulbs to help with the photography. It certainly has a "snug" feel to it
